In the stormy waters of the Atlantic Ocean, a Norwegian steamship carries an unimaginable threat hidden deep within its hold. Three weather-beaten sailors—a boatswain from Sumatra, a one-eyed Irish stoker, and a cook from Madagascar—can hardly believe their eyes when they discover something terrifying lurking in the dark cargo holds. They dare not tell the captain!

The steamship docks at a Greek island for repairs and supplies. Then, shrouded in mystery, a series of inexplicable events begins to unfold, spreading panic among the islanders.

What could be behind it all? An invasion by extraterrestrial creatures? Divine wrath? An ancient curse? Or perhaps something else entirely?
